ONE BODY FOR BOTH PHASES OF THE SPORT. NEW BOARD TO TANE CONTROL.
WELLINGTON, This day. Witli regard to the outeome of the conference at Timaru regarcUng cyclinj* control, Mr Austad, a member of the council of the _New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, said that from recent correspondence it was clear that afBliation would he granted to one hody only in New Zealand and that- this single body mnst control hoth oash and amateur cycling. The New Zealand Cycling Board would fulfil this_ purpose, and an application for affiliation was made accordingly. A telegram received at the week-end from Mr J. Kennedy, of Geraldine, secretavy of the New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union, stated: "The New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union has no intention of submitting to ■ the Auckland -hody controlling cash cycling." _ . • ...
