(Received This Dav. 11 a.m.J LONDON, OcC.,29. Jilr Sandercock. director of Messrs Trengrouse and Nathan, one of the largest merchants, giving evidence at the hutter inquiry of the Minister of Agriculture Comniittee. denied that the flavour of New Zealand "straight" butter was inferior to blended. He added that the New Zealander was a sportsman who wanted te hack his own horse and felt the elementary right of putting goocls on the market for a test on merit and quality, which was denied him. New Zealand _ butter was never sold to the puhlic as such. It was sold simply as pure hutter, for which tbe retailer got a higher price. Witliout_ a marking order there would he no incentive to sell it as New Zealand hutter.
