Earth up and stake peas. Make further sowings. Tomatoes sbould be staked, tied and disbildded. Soav Avater rnelons, pumpkins, etc. Where eaiiy-soAvn pumpkins axid melons bave suffered with tbe cold spell make anotlier sowing. Prepare ground for planting kumeras. Egg plants, capsicums and cape gooseberries sbould be ready for planting. Make further sowings of dwarf and runner beans. Some of tbe earlier sown will be showing tbe effects of bad "weather. In bad eases sow again ; it is seldom tbat success is gained once tbe plants are checked. Tbe working of the ground between tbe crops mnst be continued so as to keep dowxi weeds. Further sowing of beet, carrots anci turnips can be made. Thin out stauding crops as soon as ready: delay in tbinning is often tbe cavse of reduced yield. Make sowings of iettuce, etc., for saladings. Oxiions will benefit by an applicAtion of sulphate of axnmonia ; use about one ounce to three or four yards run of row.
