The English and Continental wheat markets are firmer, owing to a rise in the American market. English prices, however, are not quotably higher. South Australian cargoes, early shipment, are quoted at 30s Gd per 4901b, same rate as last week ; Australian wheat;, landed, 32a Gd per 4901b, as against 32s 3d last week. The Bi'adford wool market is firm — common 60's at Is 7d per lb, super GO's at Is B^d. Butter is improving 1 , owing to short supplies. Australian finest quality is quoted at 104s to lOGs per cwt, the same rate as last week. Danish butter is quoted at 116s per cwt. It is expoctod that these prices will be maintained for at least a fortnight. Rabbits are dull of sale. Victorian, B£d ; New Zealand, 7£d. Sngav is steady — Java cane, No. 15, D.S., 12s 3d per cwt. j German beet, 88 deer., 10s lid.
