At it late hour at night tho jury returned with a finding that neither the plaintiff's nction in purchasing v parcel of chutf contniry to instructions from tho diixjctors at Wellington to cense buying, nor his conduct on tho King's Birthday at Havolock, where he was arrested nnd lined for drunkenness and disoiderly conduct, justified tho dismiasal. They fixed damages nt £875. Tho case dealt largely with ethics of attracting business by m«ins of "shouting." Tne directors of tho defendant company denied, that such practice had their approval. Tho Chief Jaistic'e reserved for further consideration a point raised by Mr. 801 l for tho dofendant company that tho question should not havo gone to tho jury, nnd reserved full power for the Court to enter a verdict for defendant if tlio matter was found to *bo wholly ono of law.
