"Merely Mary Ann" was again presented at the Opera House last night by tho Williamson Company to a large audience. The exposition of the servant girl's romanco seemed to delight the assembly. The play will be submitted for the last time to-night. " To-morrow evening "Sunday" will be staged, a. comedy in which. Miss Brune is expected to shine conspicuously. When she firet came to New Zealand her highest glory was achieved in "Sunday." MR. LESLIE HARRIS. On Saturday evening Mr. Leslie Harris will re-appear at the Opera House. Thia~ versatile Bociety entertainer made himself well liked when he faced audiences here A few weeks ago. His repertoire includes tit-bits of all fare beloved by footliglit pleasure-seekers. He can sing, play, tell A story in a way that strikingly appeals to the public. He ranges through {he wliole of society for his material, but does not rely on cruelty of comment for his effect.. He Will be assisted by Miss Rosina Buckma-nn, the popular soprano. The' box plan is open at Holliday's. FULLER'S ENTERTAINERS. Good business continues to be done by the Fuller Company at the Theatre Royal. The unique balancing exhibition by the Carmoa, and the musical turn of the Gardiner*, are etill tho features of an excellent entertainment. The vocal part of the programme ■is varied enough to all tastes, "and several members of the company make a specialty of funmaking. The new biograph pictures aro well worth Seeing. •A. mefry evening was spent at the Sailors' Rest yesterday. "A full house of teamen Waa kept in good humour during the wholo bf tho programme, which was kindly arranged by Mr. Hobmnn. Every piece- was encored, and thanks and cheers wer& given the performers. The following gentlemen took part: Messrs. M'Glregor, Johnson, Minifie (2), Watkins, Outram, Fentone, two little ladies, the Sisters Staples, and Miss B. Gambl*, pianist. Tho Caledonian Society will hold ,1 smoke concert next Monday evening, in the '.Masonic Hall, Boulcott-etreet. The members of. both Houses of the Legislature have been invited. Members may obtain tickets from Mes&re. Bloxam ana M'Leod, Willis-stfe«t. Tke Rev;. J. T. Nott, M.A., delivered an interesting lecture on " Old New Zealand," or " Pespo into the Untrodden Past,V it the" ' fortnightly meeting of the Tnm'ty Mutual Improvement Society on Monday evening last. The lecture was listened to most attentively, and was highly appreciated. The president (Rev. W. J. Williams) was in the chair. A hearty vote "of thanks was accorded the lecturer. - Dr. Tudor Jones is announced to give & Jeetute in'Godber'e Rooms, Lambtonquay, to-fljght,' on "Life in Germany. ' Admission is free, but a collection will be taken up in aid of an aged couple who require assistance. Anniversary services and the opening of an enlarged church will be celebrated at theßerhampore Baptist Church next Sunday, and ' on the following Tuesdayevening a public meeting will be held. Particulars are advertised. Aft his lecture on "Chanties" in St. Thomas's Schoolroom to-morrow night, Mr. James Moore will have the assistance of a. party of 'seamen to give the musical illustrations. The lecture is one of tho Public Library free series, and a- large attendance is expected.
