AMERICAN VESSELS LOST

(AUSTRALIAN-HETT ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) '• NEW -YORK, 4th October. The Navy Department announced that the steamer Sansaba was sunk by a mine in American waters. Many are believed to have been lost. An American freighter was sunk off the coast. There is no trace of the crew, A scout patrol boat, off the coast exploded internally and sank. The crew were all saved, being picked up from the boats. The total complement was 55. The American steamer Herman Frasch (3804 tons], which was lost, collided with an Atlantic oil-tank eteamer, the George Honry. The latter . was damaged, but stood by and rescued the crew of the Herman Frasch, which sank in seven minutes. The death roll is expected to total 50.-
