' SYDNEY, 6th October. •' Tho opening of the Spring Meeting was a day of records. The crowd totalled approximately 55,000, and.the totalisator handled £74.000 Lord Nagar established a world's record in the Hurdles, and Poitrel an Australasian record in. the Spring Stakes.
