An American communique states: This morning *o resisiaeci the attack, west of the Meuse. and overcame stubborn resistance. We a-dva'oiced our lines from one and a-quarter to three miles, carrying Hill 240, north of Krmon. We took tlie villages of Gesnes, Fleville, Chehery, and La Fargc. Deapite heavy artillery and machine-gun lire "-ye forced the enemy back to the Kreimhilde positions south of Bois de Forot'.
