SHIPPING OFFICERS' GUILD

The attendance was good, and the guests entered a charmingly decorated hall, in, which cheerful yellow tones prevailed. The central electrolier was, in a shade made of two tones of yellow art paper, festoons of the same paner in flowers reaching to the walls, where they were merged in fringes of black and yellow. .Various nautical signs were used, such as lifebuoys, port and starboard lights, and the flags of the various companies; all were effectively arranged, reflecting much credit on the decorators. Light refreshments were made available in the hall, and supper in the downstairs room, which was also tastefully decorated with streamers and bowls of beautiful flowers.
