SPEEDWAY CARNIVAL

THURSDAY'S BIG MEETING

Arrangements have been made to stage a special meeting at the Kilbirnie Stadium Speedway on the night of Thursday (Boxing Day). The Australian champions, Charlie Spinks, Les van Praag, and Arthur Mann, who gave outstanding performances on Saturday night, will be in action again on Thursday night, and should be seen to even better advantage as a result of the initial experiences on the track. Among those to oppose them as New Zealand repiesentatives will by Harry Maugham and Wally Kilmister, so that there is every prospect of the racing and the broadsiding displays being of the highest order. One of the special features of the meeting, will be the Bix Six Scratch Points race] in which the best of the riders will be matched against one another. This should result in a series of contests even more thrilling than those staged on Saturday night. Record-breaking attempts will also be made, and there will be a Christmas Handicap as well as other races. The silver Gauntlet final is also included on an attractive programme. Other information regarding the meeting is published elsewhere in this issue.
