The, New Zealand Dairy Produce Boaia has received the following market report from its London office, dated 20th December, 1929, with prices for the week before shown in parentheses:—
Butter—New Zealand: Salted, loSs--162s (160s-1665); unsalted, lS2s-184s (180s--186s); 15Ss-162s equals approximately Is 3%d f.0.b.; first whey, 152s (1525); second whey, 148s (150s). Deliveries New Zealand this week, 2074 tons; in store, 3724 tons. Australian: Salted, 15i-1565-158s
(158s-lG0s); unsalted, 15Ss-l(i4s (IGGs-170s) Argentine: Unsalted, 1525-156s (15Ss-1625), Danish: 165s f.0.b.; 170s-172s spot (108s. 1765-Sos). Siberian: 15(is-158s (IGOs-1625) Polish: 1445-152s (150s-15Gs). Market low. Retail prices unchanged.
Prices of New Zealand butter at 20th December last year were 182s to 186s for
salted and 19Gs_ to 198s for unsalted. The drop this year is 24s per cwt. It will be noted that although the wholesale price is falling, the prices are maintained.
Cheese.—New Zealand: "White, Sos-90s (BSs-90s); coloured, S7s-SSs (S7s-S8s); 87s-90s equals approximately SVid f.0.1j. Deliveries New Zealand this week, 19,331 crates; in store 29,000 crates. Canadian: White, 975-100s (9Gs-9Ss); coloured, Ob's-OSs up to 100s. Deliveries Canadian, 15,970 boxes. In store, 187,291 boxes, compared last year, 4894 boxes; in store, - 107,V21 boxes. English, finest farmers, 110s-116? (110s-116s). The prices of New Zealand white aud coloured cheese this time last year -were 97s to 98s and 99s to 110s respectively, a decline on this year's prices of 9s and 12s respectively. There were 19,500 crates in store this time last year, against 29,500 this year.
The New Zealand Producers' Co-opera-tive Marketing Association's weekly cabled market report from London, dated 20th December, is as follows: Butter: Market slow. New Zealand, 15Ss to 1625; unsalted, 182s to 184s; Australian, 154s to 1565; Argentine, 152s to 1565; Danish, 170s to 1725; Siberian, 156s to 15Ss. Cheese: Market steadier. New Zealand white, 89s to 90s'; coloured 87s to 88s. Canadian white, 97s to 100s; coloured, 36s to 98s.
The Bank of New Zealand Produce Department has received the following advice from its London office, as at close of business last week:—Butter: Quiet, 160s per cwt. Cheese: Steady; white 90s, coloured 88s.
