LOCAL ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL PRIZE MEETING
Tho annual prize meeting of the Wellington Rifle Association will be held at Trentham on Anniversary Day, 22nd January. In previous years this meeting has beeu held on New Year's Day, but as such a large number of riflemen have been away on holidays at this time, the committee altered the date so as to eater for the big majority of local riflemen, who will have returned from their vacations. Arrangements for the prize meeting are well in hand, and it is anticipated that fully one hundred competitors will line the mounds on Anniversary Day. HOME AND HOME MATCH. In common with other rifle associations, the Wellington Association's team flred a home and home match on Saturday. This competition Is flred under the jurisdiction of the National Rifle Association, and the scores from all associations will be forwarded to tho parent body by post, so It will be some days before the winning team is announced. The targets in use on Saturday conformed with the latest targets in use at Bisley, while other associations used the old-size targets. However, the local team performed very creditably, and considering the tricky conditions, with a small bullseye, some very good scores were registered. Deputy-President T. Goodall's 95 was an outstanding performance, £nd was closely followed by Rifleman F. Chlng with 93. The other scores will be published when the other associations' results come to hand.
