The "Herald-Tribune's" Washington correspondent- states that it is authoritatively indicated that the United States at the London Conference may propose that capital ship replacements be postponed until 1930, on the theory that, in six years heneo, the time may be ripe to do away with such battleships altogether, and the prospect may now bo sufficiently good to save the Powers much by delaying replacements."
