■EUGBY, 22ud December. The King and Queen, accompanied by their granddaughter, Princess Elizabeth, yesterday left London for Sandringhani. The King will return for the opening of the Five- Power Naval Conference, which will assemblo in the Eoyal Gallery of the House of Lords on 21st January, and will be addressed by His Majesty. Preparations for the Naval Conference are now practically complete.

Another important International Conference fixed for next month is the second Hague Conference, which meets on 3rd January, and will be engaged on tochnical points arising out of the Young Plan of reparation payments. A Council meeting of the League of Nations, at the opening session of which the Foreign Secretary will attend as chief British delegate, will be held at Geneva on 13th January.
