MURDER OF MISSIONARY
(Received "3rd December, 11 a.m.) SHANGHAI, 22nd December.
A number of reports indicate that the Eev. D. Pike, an Australian, of the China Inland Mission, who was carried off from Kuiechow some months ago, was murdered by his captors. The Rev. J. Crofts, of the same Mission, who is investigating the case, believes that Mr. Pike was shot in the back, stripped, thrown into the river, and his horse and saddle stolen.
