SYDNEY, This Day. The Prime Minister of Australia, Mr. J. H. Scullin, in a plea for peace on the coalfields, said that a strong effort would be made to end the dispute before Christmas. "Let the spirit of Christmas prevail on all sides," he said, "and I am confident a settlement will be reached."
