AVERTED IN CALCUTTA PREVENTION OF SACRIFICE (Aust. and N.Z. Cable). Calcutta. .Tune 14. An ugly outbreak was narrowly averted in the city owing to the resentment of .Moslems. Elaborate preparations had been taken at the Rakrid festival where they had determined to sacrifice cows in the mosque situated in the heart of tin* Hindu locality, and armoured cars and large numbers of police l had to be rushed to the seem 1 where after some hours the mobs wen 1 dispersed with only minor casualties.
