NEWSPAPER LIBEL VERDICT. (Aust. anu N.Z. Cable). (Received June 15. 1 p.m.) Sydney, June 15. . The libel action, in which Sir Tims. Henley, a member of Die Legislative Assembly. claimed £SOOO from Die* Daily Telegraph Newspaper Go., ended in a verdict for £OOO. Plaintiff claimed that the newspaper, in an article, accused him ol using his official position as a member of Die Water Board to tight Australian industries and workers. Also that a second article, discussing the absence of five Nationalist members from a certain division in the Assembly. referred to him. among others. as it shirker. A stay of proceedings was granted.
