A deputation from the AVomen’s Citizens’ movement asked the Chief Secretary to prohibit competitions for girls in bathing suits at picture theatres. ATr T’rendergast replied that in the absence of a strong body of public opinion and under, the existing law he was unable to prevent bathing beauty competitions.
