Patutahi School,
(To the Editor of the Times.) Sir, —I wish to state that on the 2nd inst., at a meeting of the School Committee, there were five members present, and a unanimous resolution was carried, asking the master to open a paddock (ho used for his own stock only) for the children’s horses and also a cow which was proven to be dangerous. The master had three days’ notice to comply. Not doing so, a special meeting was called, and it not being a full meeting, the resolution was lost. There were three for- and two against. The Chairman voting against, made it equal voting. Then the Chairman gave his casting vote, and tlie resolution was lost. I should like to ask 11 Committeeman ’’ what purpose does ho think the outside school grounds are for? For the scholars’ accommodation, or for the master’s private use ? lie uses the word alleging. It’s a fact; he ought to know it. Would remind him that scholars in Gisborne do not have to vide four miles to school. “ Committeeman ”is trying to bo funny, but comedy is out of his line. Thanking you in anticipation, I am, etc., Owen Gallagher.
