NELSON NEWS.
DEATH OF DR. LEGGATT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Nelson, last night. Dr Leggat-t, who resided here for maDy years, died to-day. He lost a forearm some yoars ago when Captain of the H Battery, through a rifle shot. RASPBERRY CROP. The raspberry crop in the Motueka district is estimated at between four and five hundred tons. SOLDIERS. At the Eighth Contingent camp tonght Mr J. Harley, on behalf of the More Men Fund Committee, presented each man of the Nelson and West Coast drafts with woollen underwear. The speakers included the Bishop of Nelson, the Mayor, Mr H. Bargent, Colonel Pitt, Major Wolfe, and J. Sharp. There was a very largo number present. The members of the Eighth Contingent leave to-morrow afternoon.
