BERLIN. March 13.—'The editor of the Potadamer Zeitung has been sentenced to two months’ imprisonment, and the publishers heavily fined for incorrectly stating that the Kaiser reprimanded two lieutenants for threatening to’ fight duels. A TRAITOR. Colonel Grimm has been executed at Warsaw for selling Germany military secrets for 400,000 roubles. A list was found in his possession showing that Russian generals were open to bribery. Other arrests followed.

THE ANGLIA. BRISBANE. March 14.—The cable steamer Angia has left for Norfolk Island SYDNEY.

-14.—A 'Royal Commission appointed to inquire into the Sydney water supply recommends the restriction of water for domestic purposes. There is only about 64 days’ supply on hand. NAVAL SUBSIDY. The Daily Telegraph, commenting on the matter of the naval subsidy, says Australia must see that New Zealand does not exercise undue influence in such matters. Mr Seddon, in pledging increased contributions may force the hand of. the Commonwealth unless measures are taken to enforce the Australian view, which unquestionably is that, although it is necessary to arrange for an Imperial squadron, terms should be made to permit the people satisfying their natural aspiration to acquire warships of their own. POOR O’CONNOR ! PERTH. March 14—At the inquest on Mr C. Y. O’Connor, a verdict of suicide while mentally deranged was returned.
