RAM FAIR.
GOOD COMPETITION FOR FLOCK RAMS.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Invercargill, last nigh
At the Annual Ram Fair to-day, the prices realised wore up to expectations, especially for flock rams. A stud English Leicester, bred by Nixon, of Canterbury, brought 74gs. Border Leicesters brought up to 154 gs, for two-shear rams, bred by McCrostie. Border Leicesters ranged from 3gs to Bgs. Lincolns were at a discount, sheep bred by J. B. Sutton fetching only 44gs. The flock rams, mostly stud Border Leicesters, were a good lot. The top prices realised were sgs and 4ijgs, for MoKerehin Bros, and James King’s breeding. For English breeders, also of a high class, competition was spirited, prices ranging from 21gs to s?|gs. Romneys had poor enquiry at 2gs to 24gs. Shropshires went up to 3gs. After the flock rams wore sold, the demand slackened, and owners withdrew rather than accept the prices offering.
