PALMERSTON NORTH NEWS.

By Telegraph—Press Association Palmerston North, last night. The examination of applicants for the Tenth Contingent is still proceeding. Twentyrtwo applicants havo been approved so far, and 15 more passed the riding test to day. Fifteen more are required to make up the complement. There are plenty of applications by letter, but tho men do not seem to think it necessary to apply personally. A heavy thunderstorm passed over the district to-day, with fine, refreshing showors.
