By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night. Mr Aitken has decided to again contest the Mayoralty of Wellington. The Mosquito dredge obtained 18oz lOdwt for 77 hours’ work.
Dr Knight, Bishop Wallis, and Messrs Seymour and Evans have been re-elected members of the Victoria College Council. The Wellington Ministers' Association has unanimously endorsed the resolution passed last week by the Presbyterian Synod of Otago, with reference to gambling. It was decided to urge on the Premier the desirability of appointing a Royal Commission to enquire into the extent of drunkenness among the Maoris.
