Land Settlement.

(Per Press Association.) HAMILTON, last night. The ballot for 47 sections of land thrown open for selection under lease in perpetuity took place to-day, under the supervision of Mr Gerhard Mueller, Assistant Surveyor General. There were 1476 applications for the 47 sections into which the block of 45,490 ITcres has been divided. About 150 applicants were present. The drawing was done by a young girl. The successful drawers hail from many different parts of the colony.
