STEALING PAINT.

TWO MEN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, last night. Another of tho series of oases of stealing paint from tho Union Company’s stores was before the Police Court to-day, when John Walker, Tnomas Mathieson, and Samuel Thomas Bolton were charged with having stolen varnish, turps., lead, paint, etc., to the value of £2 14s 6d. Walker, who was in the company’s employ, consigned the goods to .Dolton. The latter had not taken possession irom the railway station, but the Crown contended that tne goods wore not consigned like that witiiout some pre-arrangement. After hearing evidence and addre.s by counsel for Bolton, the case against Bolton was dismissed. Walker and Mathieson were committed for trial.
