OPENING OF PARLIAMENT.
Parliament, meets to-day, and after the .Speech from the Throne has been delivered, both Mouses will adjourn until to-morrow as a mark of respect to the memory of the late Hon. M. M. Shrimski, of Otago, and Mr A. Morri«on, member for Caversham. Mr Sidey will move the Address-in-Replv, and Mr Plornsby will probably second it. The session should be a fairly (juiet one, and it is believed that Mir Joseph Ward, in .the absence of his chief, will be able to manage even better in the way of business, and.that there will be less reason for complaint than usual on the ground of unpreparedness. There is little doubt that a large part of the session will be occupied by members talking to their constituents through the means of Hansard. It is understood that the Bill for tiie re-casting of the electorates on the present population basis will be introduced early in the session, and tilt* report of the Commissioners in regard to tlie reversion tc single electorates in the chief centres is likely to be given effect to ;
