Tho Agent-General cables that at an interview with tho Under-Secretary of State and the War Office, with rcforonco to tho South African meat contracts, he strongly urged preference being given to colonial meat. He gathered that this would be done as far as practicable. Tenders are already advertised, but the Premier has wired the Government agent at Capetown for further details.
