A GIRL’S SUICIDE.

A young woman named Alice Beatrice Walker, lady lioip to Mr G. S. Bridge and his daughter, committed suicide by drowning herself in a hath. Mr and Miss Bridge left for Wellington on Saturday, leaving Miss Walker in charge of tire house. She stayed with her sister on Monday, and left on "Tuesday morning, saying she would not bo back to lunch, leaving her watch and chain, purse, waterproof, and blouse behind. Becoming alarmed search was made last oveuing, and the body was found by the police in tiie bath, partly clothed. The bath was half-full of water, and underneath deceased’s head was an iron foot lathe, which was secured round her neck with a skipping rope. Deceased had been in ill health and despondent for some time.
