The Colonial Consignment and Distributing Company cablo : —North Island mutton has declined another lamb has risen Jd, owing to the arrival of new soason’s shipments. Quotations are: Canterbury s}d, Napier, Wellington and North Island 4i)d, lamb (first quality) sjd, second 5Jd.

Sheep: Wo yarded and sold 480 at following prices: Ewes, aged, in low condition, 7s 6d ; more forward, 9s ; fat 10s Gd, 11s Id, and 12s Cd. Wethers : Stores, 12s fid ; light butchers’ sheep, 13s to 10s fid. All quotations for shorn sheep. Cattle : We yarded 255 head, but owing to causes mentioned abovo we quitted only 133 head. Bidding for the remainder did not come up to expectations. Following aro the quotations: Calves, 35s to 45s ; heifers, yearlings, £H 15s ; two-year-olds, £5 ; steors, yearlings. .£3 5s ; 18 months to two year-olds, 83s to 97s Gd ; cows, empty, £i 2s fid ; light beef, £5 5s to X's 12s fid ; fat, £1 to JEB 10s ; cows and calves, £6 to £5 12s.

Pigs : Weanors made 9s fid to 14s ; porkers, 18t*te-2 | s. The woathor was too hot for yarding pigs, and several died in the yards. Our next salo will be held on Thursday, 29th January, when we expect things to 11 hum ” if reasonable rains aro previously experienced.
