COMMERCIAL.
At the Waeronga-a-hiKa stock sale on Thursday entries consisted of about 3000 sheep, 200 cattle, and a few pigs. Buyers for cattle were backward in bidding, and a large number of cattle were passed in. Nearly all were sold afterwards, however, at satisfactory figures, and although competition was not keen prices realisod were fully equal to those ruling at recont sales. The domand for sheep was briskor, twotooth wothors selling freely at 10s 6d to 11s 3d for oettor sorts, butchers’ owes 9s 6d, full-mouthed owes (forward condition) bs,' good lambs (Shropshire cross) 6s 3d, ordinary lambs 4s sd, cull ewes os. Mr Craig’s rams realised 2;[gs. Cattle: A line of 62 two-year-old steers brought £5 10s, and another of 30 21- to 3 years £6 10s' forward conditioned cows £5 to £5 10s springing heifers (good) .£6 15s; calves 26s to 42s 6d, according to size; pigs, mostly weaners, dull of sale. Messrs Dalgety and Co. report receipt of tho following London cable:—New Zealand frozen meat: Prices are dearer ; market strong, owing to small stock, otherwise frozen meat in general prices
