BRITISH INDUSTRY

By Telegraph --Press Association- Copyright London, March 2.

Tho newspaper Engineering states that a report prepared by the Standards Committee expresses a hope that British standard sections in ironwork will come into operation within twelve months. It is estimated that a reduction in the cost of structural steel alone will amount to seven hundred and fifty thousand pounds per annum. A series of sectional standards is being issued, approximating closely to those used by foreign competitors, so that makers readjusting machinery will be enabled to stock material, including bridge building and locomotive material, to prevent orders going abroad.
