HORTICULTURAL SHOW
A RECORD GATHERING
ANTICIPATED,
The Autumn Show of the Poverty Bay Horticultural Society will be held this afternoon and evening, and promises to be an unqualified success. Excellent entries have been reeeivod, and the CommitseQ anticipate that the exhibition will be the best yet seen in the district.
Conspicuous at the Show will be the exhibition of pot plants, of which over 200 will be staged by local cultivators. A large quantity of fruit has beon preserved this year, and the exhibit of jams and preserves will bo a special foaturo. Six entries have been received for the best decorated table, which will bo decided by a judge. An addition to the numerous special prizes is a 10s collection of bulbs presented by Messrs Cooper ' and Son, Wellington,
Exhibitors are requested to have their entries staged by 10.30. The Show will be open from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., and again in the evening from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. Afternoon tea will be provided, and arrangements have been made for a musical programme during the evening.
