At the.quarterly meeting of the City Licensing Committee to-day tho polico roportod very unfavorably in regard to tho unsatisfactory structural deficiency and domestic drawbacks of a number of hotels in tho city. The following are some of tho polico comments : Caledonian Hotel.—Building in an advanced state of doeay. House quito unfit to be liconsed.
Princo of Wales.—Building out of date and wanting in accommodation ; rooms small, passages narrow. Foresters’ Arms.—House out of dato ; rooms small; stairs narrow.
Clydo Quay.—This house is quito out of date.
Imperial.—Rooms small; practically no accommodation, oxcept for drinking; quito unfit to bo licensed.
Masonic.—Untidy ; ovorcrowdod, unsafe, and unfit to be liconsed. In addition to these tho Western and New Zealanders’ hotels are stated to be unfit to bo licensed. These reports are to be sent on to tho licensees.
