The March series of wool sales opened briskly. Prices ruled at par to 5 per cent, below the closing sales of the January series.

Received 11.47 p.m., March 11. London, March 11. At the wool sales 9269 bales were offered. The selection was below the average. There was a good attendance and spirited competition. Merinos firmly maintained the average rates ruling in January. Fine crossbreds were unchanged from the closing rates of the January sales. Medium sorts sold at par to 5 per cent, lower, coarse 3 to 10 per cent, lower.
