By Telegraph—PreßS Association. Wellington, last night. The following cable has been received from the Agent-General, dated London, 29th :—“ Mutton market firm at former prices. Thero is a scarcity of prime quality mutton. A good demand for all lamb. The shipments of lamb now arriving are very heavy. Shipments of River Plate lamb aro very small, Australian lamb is in small supply. The average prico to-day of New Zealand lamb, Canterbury brand, is s|d ; New Zealand lamb, brands other than Canterbury, os d. The beef market is quiet at former prices. Stocks of New Zealand beef on hand are light. Quotations for New Zealand beef aro nominal. Tho butter market is dull. Tho price of butter to day is 103 s per cwt. There is a good demand for cheese at from 69s to 70s per cwt. The hemp market is dull. Tbo prico of good fair Wellington grade on snot to day is .£33, March shipments £3O, April shipments .£29 10s. The cocksfoot seed market is depressed at 585.”
