ARGENTINE COMPETITION

The Department of Industries and Commerce has received the following cable from the Agent-General, dated London, 6th instant" The quantities of Argentine meat landed in the United Kingdom during March is as follows : 49,109 carcases of mntton in London, 173,893 Liverpool, 10,405 Hull, 14,701 Newcastle, 8200 Cardiff, 3708 Southampton, 1355 Plymouth ; 9201 carcases of lamb in London, 18,378 Liverpool, 1000 each Hull and Newcastle, and 149 Cardiff. The quantity of Argentine butter landed was 13,469 cwt, and tho ports at which it was landed were London and Liverpool.
