FLOODS IN THE SOUTH
Per Press Association,' Christchurch, last night. Heavy rains in tho Akaroa Peninsula last week caused tho loss of many young cattlo, and did ouormous damage, boven toon head of cattlo wero killed at Okams Bay. Roads in various directions were blockod for some time, but communication has now been restored. Tho effect on milking cattlo has been vory marked. The milk supply has fallen off to a unusual extent. During tho flood m tho Little River fish 71b weight wero found on some township roads. Some sheep wero rushed out to sea by the forco ot the wind and flood.
