BROACHING WHISKY.
Per Press Association, Dunedin, last night,
Sis of tho crow of the barque Port Sonnachan were charged with broaching cargo and cmDezzling several cases of whisky. When ten miles off the Snares the captain noticed that several of tho crow were drunk, and on a search being made whisky was found in tho forecastle, which it was admitted had been stolen. Tho others implicated had deserted. Six men pleaded guilty, and were sentenced to Id days, and each to refund lbs 3d.
