Second Hack Hurdles. —Tradewind 1, Comfort 2, Inspan 3. Won easily. Time 2.50 2-5, divs. £3 6s and 14s.

Napier Steeplechase, of 250 sovs ; 3 miles Jack-o’-Lantern, 11.2 ... 1 Pipi, 10.9 2 Straybird, 9.13 3 Won by three lengths. Time 6.40 4-5, div. £4 3s,

Winter Oats Handicap.—Menura 1, WaitnoG 2, Gold Dust 3. Won by two lengths. Time 1.47 4-5, divs. £3 7s and £ll2s.

Hunters’ Handicap Hurdles. —Modesty 1, Hinewai 2, Draga 3. Won easily. Time 3.30 25, divs. £5 18s and 14s. ■ Second Handicap Hurdles.—Rags 1, Smithy 2, Alourner 3. Won by two lengths. Time 3.25, divs. £3 13s. Farewell Steeplechase.—The Gryphon 1, Straybird 2, Counterbine 3. Won by three lengths. Umslopagaas fell. Time 4.54, divs. £2 15s and 19s. Newstead Hack Handicap.—Creusot 1, Optimist 2, Andree 3. Won by a neck. Time 1.33, divs. £3 3s and 15s.

TOTALISATOR ODDS,

(Per Press Association.) NAPIER, last night. The police to-day arrested a man on the Napier Park racecourse, ■ for laying totalisator odds. ; The jockey Hutchinson, injured through Umslopagaas falling with him in the Farewell Steeplechase has recovered' consciousness in the Hospital, and is doing well. He has a collar-bone and arm broken. ! The correct amount. invested on the totalisators was £5006, a decrease of £.45 from last year.
