Mr Arthur Basil Markham, member of the House of Commons for Mansfield, has handed the Daily News a cheque for £SOOO to be donated to the London Hospital if his allegation that Deßeer’s and their Rhodesian associates own control of tho greater part of tho South African Press not substantiated.

The Capo Times offers a similar amount fir the South African Hospital if Mr Markham’s statement is established against itself or the Transvaal Leader.
