WATER QUESTIONS.

(To the Editor of the Times.)

Sib, —About a fortnight ago tho Council passed a resolution asking tho opponents of Waihiroro to formulate questions to bo submitted to Mr Mostayer and also to the Health Department, and promised to have

thorn submitted and dealt with in the samo way as the Council’s legal position was ascertained througli Mr Bell's opinion, and so havo any doubts cleared up on tbe engineering side as well as tho legal side. Apparently well considered questions wore drawn up by Crs Whinray and Lysnar, and were duly submitted to tho Council at their last meeting, when tho Council refusod to carry out thoir previous resolution, and declined to send tho questions forward. I wonder what tho noxt chapter or revelation will bo. I think tho Council’s word is of littlo value, and perhaps tho Waihirero supporfcors sniff danger in these questions and shrink from tho probability of having to read a reply, which will go to show thoir scheme is bad, and they must commcnco a now schemo. In tho samo way clioy woro told their last poll was bad and illegal, and tboy must commcnco do novo so as to comply with tho law of our land, preferring to leave tho laws of naturo in doubt and darkness.—l am, etc., Anti-Wist Blanket.
