Jack-o’ Luntern did long, slow work, as did Croupier, Slow Tom, Mourner, Stray: bird, Buster, Umalopogaas, Kohunui, Reclaimer, Lavaletto, Scallywag, and a number of others. Roller and Hurricane ran over the hurdles and jumped well, but in finishing off a double Hurricane fell and i dragged his rider, W. Thomas, some distance. The horse es caped but Thomas received a severe shako. Hipstone and Mars cantered, and then ran a mile in 1.52. Hipstone, who had evidently the worst of the weights, showed to most advantage. No other jumping was done.
