A FIRE AT DUNEDIN.

Per Press Association. Dunedin, last night. A fire broke out this evening in MeCallurn and Co.’s sawmills and woodware factory, in Vogel street, and spreading rapidly with the high south-west wind prevailing, tho place was completely gutted. There was a good deal of valuable machinery in the factory, but it is impossible to say yet if it is completely spoilt. The hardware store of the firm, adjoining, escaped with very little damage. Tho storied building and contents were insured in the North Queensland office for £II,OOO, and there was a policy for £4OO over the hardware store and contents. There is a re-insurance of one-third the amount in tho Alliance office. The fire is supposed to have been caused by a spark from tbe engine.
