A SERIOUS CHARGE.

(Per Press Association ), Auckland, last night.

The charges against Daniel Vinson Dossetor, chemist, came up for hearing at the Suprome Court this morning, before Mr Justice Cooper. Dossetor was charged with unlawfully using an instrument on Juno 15th, with intent to procure miscarriage on Isabella McCallum. There was a similar count with respect to June 27th, and a third count with respect to the time between Juno 13fch and June 27. Prisoner pleaded not guilty. He was not represented by couusel. Alter hearing the evidence the jury returned a verdict of not guilty. Accused denied that he had used any instrument, and Btated that ho had not treated the woman for pregnancy. Accused was discharged.
