The demand has fallen oil considerably. The weather lately has been very unfavorable for the sale of lamb. A quantity of damaged carcases is being placed on the market. The average price to-day of Canterbury brands is sd, othor brands 4Jd. The beef market is loss depressed. The average price to-day of New Zealand hind quarters is 4 l-Bd, fores 2ld. The butter market is firm. The average price of choicest New Zealand is 97s per cwt, Danish 105 s. The cheese market is steady. Stocks of New Zealand have been practically cleared. The average price of finest New Zealand nominally is 52s per cwt, Canadian 50s to 51s. Hemp market is steady, without alteration. Good fair Wellington grade on spbt to-day is at 1131, September to December shipments £3O 10s. Tho cocksfoot market is quiet. Prices are slightly weaker. Tho average price of bright, clean New Zealand cocksfoot seed weighing 171bs per bushel on spot is 48s per cwt.
