At the outset Shamrock had tho windward berth, and for a short time was footing it fast, but Rolianco outpointing, passed hor. Tho wind soon blowing nine knots Reliance strengthened her position, her advantage to tho outer mark being six minutes nine seconds, deducting allowance. She soon lod by two miles, and won by three. Dense fogs covered the course towards the close of the race, preventing Shamrock finishing.
