PRODUCE TRADE.

EXPORTS FROM THE COLONY. (Per Press. Association.) Wellington, last night. The quantities and value of frozen meat and dairy produce exported from the colony for the five months of the present year are :—Butter 52,714 cwt, £244,787 ; cheese 21,891 ewt, £59,020; beef 114,382 cwt, £151,888 ; mutton 1,151,489 oaroases, £684,771; mutton (legs and pieces) 25,832 ewt, £30,148 ; lamb 1,220,974 oaroases, £614,228. As compared with the corresponding period of last year, about 30,000 more carcases of mutton and over 100,000 more carcases of lamb were exported between April Ist and August 31st of this year. The quantity of butter exported last month was 14,842 cwt, value £68,711, as againßt 7676 cwt, value £42,471, in August of last year. There was, however, a very large decrease in the cheese exports last month as compared with Augnst of last year, the figures being 445 cwt, £1228, and 2128 cwt, £5340. The export of lamb last month (142,792 oaroases, £72,094) was double that of August, 1902.
